

Her Mother
Smt P Andalu fought for the Separate Telangana Movement of 1968-69, a dedicated freedom fighter, fearlessly stood for the cause. In a pivotal moment, she was arrested at Koti Abids Police Station, and her journey through the legal proceedings at the City Civil Court unfolded amidst the charged atmosphere of the movement. The intensity of the incident peaked with gunfire, leading to P Andalu’s brother, Chippa Jagadish, sustaining a bullet injury. Afterwards, the mob, including my mother, were transferred to Nimboli Adda Women’s Jail, where she remained remanded for a period of 10 days, bearing witness to the sacrifices made for the pursuit of a separate Telangana.

Her Grandfather
Late Sri Lingaya valiantly opposed the Razakars of the Nizam, risking their lives to protect many individuals during the tumultuous period in the Hyderabad Kingdom. Additionally, they fervently volunteered in Netaji Subash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army, earning them the esteemed status of Freedom Fighters for their unwavering dedication to the cause of India’s independence.
